Hosting the Domain
Once you have purchased your domain you will need a place for it to be hosted. This will be the home of your website. Hosting is priced by the number of Megabytes of space, cgi access, email accounts and perhaps some other amenities depending on who you choose. Hosting a domain can be handled by anyone who has a website server. Most often this is offered by Internet Service Providers (ISP). Some web designers also offer hosting on a private server of their own, but this is not always the case. A good designer who knows his/her resources well can make suggestions according to your needs and wants.

Hosting costs can vary tremendously depending on geographic location and company. The fun part is you can host your domain ANYWHERE you want with ANYONE who has a server! You are not limited to hosting in your local community! People like to use businesses in their own community, however, so its no surprise that your first thought may be to host with a major ISP (Internet Service Provider) in your area. If your area happens to be Sacramento or New York City, for example, you could be paying astronomical hosting fees. Rates range anywhere from free hosting to hundreds of dollars per month, depending on your website size and type, for example.

Be sure to ask us, we have resources and will be glad to help point you in the right direction for your needs.
